His bravery and valor were recognized with awards including the Purple Heart and the Navy Accommodation Medal for Valor. Donald’s dedication to serving his country continued throughout his life, as he remained an active member of the Navy SEAL Associations New England chapter and the VFW, where he served as past commander of Post 620.
A Teacher and Coach
Beyond his military service, Donald made a significant impact as an educator and coach. He served as a teacher at Burlington High School and earned distinction as a Hall of Fame swim coach.
