The fast-food chain said that Jamie Major, the assistant manager of a Burger King in South Carolina, was fired because he reportedly gave customers French fries that had been taken out of a trash can.
In a statement to The Post on Thursday, Burger King said that Jamie Major had been fired by the local franchise operator and highly condemned what he was said to have done. “These allegations don’t fit with the brand’s commitment to providing quality food and service and giving guests an amazing experience,” a company rep wrote.
“The franchisee in charge of this store fired the worker in question. The franchisee is working with local officials, and because the investigation is still going on, we can’t give you any more information right now,” the statement said. Major lost his job after he was arrested on Monday and charged with illegal food tampering. The 39-year-old Burger King worker is said to have mixed French fries from the trash with freshly cooked French fries.
The assistant manager of Burger King was arrested because he sold customers fries made from trash.
On July 9, officers from the Union Police Department were sent to the burger spot on the Duncan Bypass in Union because there was a report of a fight. Police officers saw two women yelling at, threatening, and cussing at Burger King workers.
Report shows that the women were arrested for disorderly conduct because they didn’t listen to the cops when they told them to calm down. Two days later, Burger King’s main office called the cops and told them that Major had been giving customers fries from the trash. Police looked into the claim that Major had a stomachache, and a warrant for his arrest was issued. The State said that the woman had been let out of jail after paying a $20,000 bail. Major could spend up to 20 years in jail if he is found guilty.
