Template: a number of problems Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff (born September 19, 1960) is a convicted drug trafficker and member of the organised crime syndicate in the United States. McGriff rose to notoriety in the early 1980s after establishing his own crack distribution network, which he dubbed the Supreme Team, in the South Jamaica area of Queens, New York. The Supreme Team was headquartered in the South Jamaica section of Queens and distributed crack across the city. In the years that followed, the gang’s membership expanded to hundreds and eventually gained dominance of the crack cocaine trade in the Baisley Park Houses, the area where McGriff grew up. McGriff was apprehended in 1987 as a result of a combined state and federal investigation, and he pled guilty to participating in a Continuing Criminal Enterprise in 198He was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in prison. McGriff was freed from jail on parole in early 1994, after completing roughly seven years of his sentence. He had served approximately seven years of his term. By the end of the year, he had been sent to jail for violating his parole, and he had spent another 212 years in prison before being freed in 199McGriff is suspected of having a role in the 2002 murder of Run D.M.C. member Jam Master Jay, and he was convicted in 2001 of ordering the murder of Mobb Deep associate E-Moneybags, both of whom were members of the group (real name Eric Smith). Federal officials have also charged him with attempted murder in connection with the death of 50 Cent. According to persistent reports, McGriff believed 50 Cent had revealed too much of the drug kingpins in Jamaica and Queens, as well as other people engaged in the drug trade, via the lyrics of his song “Ghetto Qu’ran,” which was published in 2000 and was a hit single.
McGriff was convicted of murder-for-hire on February 1, 2007 in a Federal court in the Eastern District of New York on accusations that he paid $50,000 to have two competitors (Eric Smith and “Big Nose” Troy Singleton) shot and killed in 200McGriff was sentenced to prison on February 1, 200Five days of deliberation preceded the jury’s decision to find McGriff guilty of murder conspiracy and drug trafficking charges. On February 9, 2007, the same jury returned a verdict of life imprisonment for McGriff. Because almost all of his assets had been confiscated, he was represented by a court-appointed counsel for the duration of the lawsuit. Following his conviction, McGriff was sentenced to life in prison in ADX Florence, a federal supermax prison in Colorado. In 2011, he was moved to the United States Penitentiary, Lee, a high-security federal prison in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
