Nic Nemeth is all over the place in 2024 following his WWE release last year.
TNA and New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Nic Nemeth has been announced for Imagos Films‘ live-action adaptation of Kyle Starks’ comic book, The Legend of Ricky Thunder. However, the movie will be titled Absolute Thunder.
According to the press release, Nemeth will star as Ricky Thunder. A legendary wrestler forced to face the crushing reality that his run at the top was all scripted. And that aliens are real and want to take over the world with wrestling.
Nemeth said when presented with the comic book, he couldn’t say no in good conscience.
“Kyle Starks’ comic book was presented to me out of the blue, and wow was it beautiful, fun, awesome, and wholesome,” Nic Nemeth said. “So I could not, in good conscience, say no! Second of all, I AM Ricky…we all are haha!”
Absolute Thunder director Don Thacker describes the overall movie as 80s action comedy meets 90s anime.
“Absolute Thunder is 80s action comedy meets 90s anime meets weirdly unscrupulous aliens meets your face with a gigaton explosion of heart,” Don Thacker said. “With Kyle’s book as our North Star, and Nic as our Ricky, we’re geared up to tell a wholesome story about friendship, confidence, self-esteem, and wrestling. So much wrestling.”
