Filming for the tenth (and supposedly second-to-last) film in the Fast & Furious franchise is well underway, and we now have a photo of stars Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa fist bumping on set. The photo, posted on Vin Diesel’s Instagram page this Friday, reveals that we’re only two weeks away from the first trailer for Fast X

Vin Diesel, who has frequently been a star in the long-running series, will be joined by Jason Momoa for his first appearance in the high-octane franchise. The Aquaman star will be playing a villain in this film. Specifically, he’ll be playing a villain named Dante, who Momoa has called a “very flamboyant bad boy.”

There’s currently no word about what circumstances will pit Vin Diesel and his crew up against Jason Momoa. However, the series is notorious for constantly upping the stakes, with the latest films having over-the-top, world-threatening plots that would be right at home in a Pierce Brosnan-era James Bond film. The ninth film, for example, involved trying to stop a cyberterrorist from gaining control of a device that could hack into any computerized system — granting them nearly-unstoppable control of everything in the civilized world.

Assuming the action-packed franchise stays true to form, Vin Diesel’s character Dom will likely have to stop Jason Momoa’s Dante from some sort of high-stakes, villainous scheme. The two will reportedly be joined by John Cena again, returning to his role as master thief, assassin, and (of course) racer Jakob Toretto.

What we can safely guess is that the conflict set up in Fast X won’t be resolved by the end of the film, since it will be the first of a two-part, series-ending finale. Chances are Dom won’t be able to successfully stop whatever villainy Dante is up to, meaning both Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa will probably return for the final film.

While the two-part showdown between Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa will wrap up the main series of films, that doesn’t mean that the Fast & Furious franchise will be gone for good. There are already plans to make multiple spin-off movies featuring characters that appeared in the original series. Captain Marvel star Brie Larson, who will play the character Tess in Fast X, will reportedly star in one of the spin-offs.

There is also a sequel in development for one of the already-existing Fast & Furious spinoffs, Hobbs & Shaw. The sequel, which will reportedly be very different from the first movie, will once again star Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham — and might end up featuring ex-Superman Henry Cavill. Chances are Vin Diesel won’t show up in the movie, and Jason Momoa’s character will probably be far too defeated to end up showing up in any Fast & Furious films moving forward.

After Fast X releases on May 19, both Vin Diesel and Jason Momoa have other sequels to keep them busy. Momoa will appear in Aquaman 2 on December 25, and Diesel will reportedly be returning to the role of Xander Cage in xXx 4, though there’s very little information about when we can expect that film to release.
