Ryan Waller lost his life as a result of the break-in, shooting, and murder of his fiancée on Christmas Day.

The night before Christmas Eve, on December 23, 2006, Ryan Waller and his girlfriend Heather Quan were having a quiet night when they suddenly heard a knock at the door.

The couple was taken aback when a stranger interrupted their evening because they hadn’t planned on having any visitors.

When Ryan went to the door to see who was there, two trespassers held him at gunpoint as soon as he opened it.

Unfortunately, he was too slow to slam the door in their faces despite his best efforts. The invaders then shot him in the head through the eye as a result.

Believing they had killed Ryan, the men entered the apartment and killed his girlfriend, Heather.
